About TASC Treatment
Accountability for Safer Communities (TASC) works with
individuals who are involved in the criminal justice
system who have been court-ordered to participate in
substance abuse and mental health services. We provide
assessment, referral and care monitoring based upon
specific criteria set forth by the American Society
for Addiction Medicine and by the American Psychiatric
Association.
All individuals who work with TASC must
meet the following criteria:
- Involvement in the criminal justice
system;
- A past, present or potential alcohol
and/or other drug problem or an alcohol and/or drug
related offense;
- Agreement to voluntarily participate
in TASC.
TASC works with, but is not a part of,
the court system or the Department of Correction. We
assist individuals like yourself to comply with court
orders that result because you have been placed on probation,
parole, pre-trial release, etc. Our goal is to help
you comply with your court order so that you can successfully
complete your sentence or your pre-trial diversion.
TASC understands that you are here
because of a legal order and that you probably feel
coerced to be here. TASC is a voluntary program and
you may choose not to participate in the program(s),
if any, that are recommended at assessment. It is our
hope that you will voluntarily agree to work with TASC
so that you can fulfill the conditions of your legal
order and successfully complete your requirements.
