Patton works to help young girls and their fathers stay
connected and become part of each others' lives. But what about girls
whose fathers can't be there — because they're in
jail? Patton tells the story of a very special father-daughter
dance. She reminds us: "You
never know until you ask." This was her advice to the
young "at promise" (not "at risk!")
teen girls whom she mentored. The girls had a creative idea
about how to stay better connected to their fathers during
their fathers' incarceration -- an idea that falls on the
right ears at the right time.
