IV. Antecedents, Behaviors, & Consequences

Social learning theorizes that behaviors are learned only if and when they are rewarded. It explains how offenders acquire, as well as change behavior.

The three components to every behavior be it criminal or not: Antecedents, Behaviors, and Consequences.

  • Antecedents -before the action occurs

  • Behaviors -the action itself

  • Consequences -after effects of the action
