I. Incentives
Supervision, based on
the principles of behavior management, moves offenders up and
down the incentive/consequence ladder throughout the period of
supervision. Movement throughout supervision is based on compliance
with individualized case plans and behavioral contracts. The behavioral
management approach uses swift, certain, and graduated responses
to hold offenders accountable for their behavior, and shape their
behavior.
The goal is to use incentives
to hold the offender accountable and to develop intrinsic responses
to situations.
