Role-Play: Prioritization
The purpose of this brief role-play
is to help staff identify what should be prioritized. Keep staff
in the established groups of two, this time having one person
play an average offender and the other play a supervision staff
person. Provide the offender with a scenario where they have
multiple problems and need help creating a plan to address said
needs (such as drug problem, alcohol problem, employment issues,
family problems, etc.). Following a 10-minute interview by staff,
have the groups spend 5 minutes discussing how they could develop
a plan to help this offender address his concerns. Discuss internal
and external controls.
